Ultimate Guide: Baby Shower Gift Ideas

Baby Shower Gift Ideas - By NadineAmanduh

On today’s blog I’ll be sharing gift ideas. Especially for those who are clueless on what to give on a baby shower. Usually if you get invited to a baby shower, there’s already a baby gift registry that the host or celebrant prepared. This actually allows them and the guests to have visibility on what gift /s were already purchased from the wish list. It is not necessary to follow the invite completely about purchasing through the provided gift registry.

Ultimate Guide: Baby Shower Gift Ideas - NadineAmanduhAs shown above, I have created a very easy to understand infographic here that you can save on your phone or pin on your pinterest. There are 9 gift ideas on this infographic that I believe will be a lot helpful to all of you who are going to attend a baby shower. If not you, perhaps you can share this to a friend whom you know who’s going to attend a baby shower.

1. Bibs

Bibs are very essentials for babies. Newborn up to a year old. It is a mother’s best friend! Especially on those drooling, burping and vomiting times of their babies. You can never go wrong on giving a bib as a gift. You can go for a pink or purples for a baby girl, blue for a baby boy, and some gender neutral colors like beige, yellow, green, or orange. If you’re planning to give this as a single gift. Purchase a set of 3 and above instead.

2. Feeding Bottles

Feeding bottles maybe the most common gift on a baby shower. But it’s also the most common thing that a baby uses. I personally suggest if you are going to give feeding bottles as a set, is to purchase a set of feeding bottles that are not too huge. Usually newborns don’t feed that much milk. Best sizes are the ones that are 4oz to 6oz of bottle. Some of the high quality (BPA-free and colic free) feeding bottle brands are: Dr. Brown’s Original Bottles, Comotomo Natural Feel Baby Bottles, Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Bottles,Minbie Newborn BPA-free Baby Bottles, and Philips AVENT Natural Baby Bottles (Click here for 2017’s best baby bottles)

3. Baby-Safe Plush Toy

This gift idea is usually disregarded by many. But a plush toy is a recommended gift idea for babies. As well as new-born babies. According to research, a plush toy develops a baby’s social skills. It may not be conveyed in words but it can be conveyed through a baby’s cooing. It is recommended to have a small plush toy that can be easily carried around and that you can put beside the baby while he or she sleeps. DO NOT buy big plush toys because this is one of the most common factors of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), which suffocates the baby. You can purchase colorful plush toys that can be displayed on the crib too, or the ones that plays music.

4. Diaper Bag

A diaper bag is a perfect gift. This can be used up to toddler years. I know it is confusing to choose what design to choose and the functionality of the bag. But I honestly think that’s not a huge problem. What I do recommend is  purchasing a neutral colored bag that both the mom and dad can use like the one shown on the guide infographic at the top. The diaper bag shown is a Lekebaby Backpack Diaper Bag. More about this diaper bag here.

5. Hooded Baby Bath Towel

A baby bath towel is a nice gift to give on a baby shower. You can purchase a set or if it happened you bought it separately, a creative way to gift it is by rolling each towels and wrap it with a ribbon and put it in a basket. Feeling extra generous? You can include baby bath essentials like baby soap , baby shampoo or baby body wash then top it up with a soft bath sponge.

6. Mittens and Booties

The most common gift and most commonly used of babies are mittens and booties. A set usually comes along with a bonnet too. Depends on your choice of purchase. There are a lot of designs for mittens and booties nowadays and sometimes its fun to choose along with other baby stuff. I honestly think if you want to gift mittens and booties, it should come along with the bibs, burp cloths, and etc.

7. Diaper Caddy

I rarely see that this gift on a baby shower but it is very useful at home. It’s an organized way of keeping baby’s diapers and diaper-changing essentials like wipes, powder, and diaper lotion. If you’re planning to give this as a gift, you may want to include newborn diapers to along with the essentials.

8. Baby Onesies

Baby onesies are one of the most convenient baby wear today. Because of its design that allows you to easily change diapers. It also comes with varieties of design. You may also opt on onesies that are short-sleeved or long-sleeved. But the more choices that you include on the gift, the better.

9. Baby wear gift set

If still clueless with what gift to give, there’s always a baby wear gift set that you can buy. It also comes with different kinds of packaging. Some are already packed as a gift so you won’t need to wrap it. Mostly of this baby wear gift set  are already in similar colors or patterns.
