Got a bit bored and experimented with two lippies (Wet n Wild and LA girl) that I rarely use to come up with a new shade. Topped that off a moisturizing lip balm (Baby Lips from Maybelline). Enjoy!

I honestly honestly love this planner but I just have to let it go since I’m not using it any longer. I’ve been addicted to planners since highschool. I collect planners, stationery, colored pens and stickers and do the scrapbooking thing on my planners. I used to put “neo prints” on ’em (for those who don’t know what a neo print is. Those are photos printed on small stickers). Now I’ve been very busy a lot and I think the doodling and scrapbooking thing on my planner is taking so much of my time. Though I admit it’s really a fun thing to do. But I gotta admit that phase in my life has ended but my creative soul is still within me. Perhaps I can still do some lettering or calligraphy, sketching and painting. Daaaamn! I miss doing those stuff! But anyway, to the future owner of this planner. I hope you take good care of it as much as I did and try to personalize it a but. There are lotsa stuff in YouTube that you can do with that planner. Plus the material is just awesome!

Hi guys! I haven’t been blogging a lot lately. Been busy with work and other things outside of work. I have recently been part of this pageant in our office which is the search for the company’s image model and I want to share to you guys photos from this event.
I am honestly not a pageant-girl but have I have walked for fashion shows for work purposes. I just don’t like the feeling that I have to compete with other ladies for a title. That’s just my personal opinion. I’m happy to have been part of this event.
I have put extra effort on my makeup but as you can see I didn’t put much of an effort on my hair. I honestly just towel dried my hair and combed it. Luckily we have hair stylists and makeup artists there for the event. One of them hair-iron straightened my hair. My hair was a disaster on my evening gown look but I love it. I’m comfortable and that’s just me. I didn’t intend to be over glammed up.

I didn’t win the title but I was so happy for my friend/team mate Jenn who won a special award for Miss Photogenic. So proud coz I did her makeup! I didn’t win any special awards that night but was part of the top 5. I was the first one called. I honestly didn’t expect it because, 1) I didn’t spent money for this pageant (well except for food and my makeup). 2) I didn’t win any special awards. And 3) I don’t have that huge of fan-base.
It was a nerve racking experience because I was first called for the question and answer portion and I’m so scared I might go on a mental block or answer too much weirdness. The question was, if my name will be put on the dictionary, what would it mean and why? I totally don’t remember my answer but I remember saying that my name would mean optimistic and hardworking. Besides that it’s my personality, I want people to feel that when they used that word which is my name, it will serve its positive purpose (the hell I really don’t know where did that came from). Each contestant was able to answer well and I’m just happy and relieved for everyone. The one that I speculated who would win actually won. I’ve thought it because, 1) I honestly think she nailed her photo for the pre pageant, 2) she performs well, 3) she really have a huge fan base. Congrats to Gelly! (I wish I know her full name)
I’ll update my blog soon as I was able to get good photos from the pageant.
It was quite an experience but I swore to myself that this would be the last pageant that I’ll be joining. I really feel that I’m kinda old for this kind of stuff and I want to focus on my work and becoming a makeup artist (please support me on this venture!) I wanted to end this blog post about:
Tips on joining beauty pageants if you’re not a pageant-girl (Yep! You’ve read that right)
1. Take good care of your skin.
– remember its a beauty pageant. Always hydrate. Don’t sleep with your makeup on. Wash your face with your trusted face wash and don’t forget that a toner is a must plus your moisturizer.
2. Ensure you have a good makeup on you.
– it’s either you learn from the internet or get a friend to do your makeup for you.
3. Always attend rehearsals.
– you get to know your co-contestants well and share tips. Also you don’t want to miss out any changes in the flow of the show.
4. Have a good support system.
– those are your family and friends. They will keep you motivated.
5. Be thankful.
– its not all the time that you’ll be joining this kind of event. The fact that you were chosen to join is because people believe you have a potential. 🙂
I would love to know what you think about this blog! Please leave a comment below. Thanks again for reading! 😉
It has really been hectic day starting from work, then I took my daughter shopping and dealing with the heavy traffic! Traffic’s really worst when it’s raining.
But I don’t want to highlight my hectic day but instead I want to talk about Blushes! Though I’m not really a fan of putting blush (blush on) coz I’m a contour devotee. But… In my case it is deemed necessary because I’m a pale kinda gal. If I go out there without blush on or lipstick, I literally look like a sick kid.
On today’s Tuesday Top Three, I want to share to you guys My Go-To Blushes that I have tried and really works for me if I’m in a hurry and I’m pretty pretty sure that this’ll do it for the working girls out there or students on the go.
1. Avon Flavor Savers lip balm in Bubblegum
I discovered this one when I was in Senior High School. I just noticed that my lip balm really doesn’t do the trick only on my lips. I still look pale with my face powder on and my Avon Flavor Savers on my lips. I tried dabbing the lip balm on my upper cheek bone going upwards. And my! Highlighter was not a thing during that time but it looked like I had blush slash highlighter on my cheek bones. It kind of gave me a warm glow and a lot of my friends noticed it too. (Note: No skin break out happened)
2. Sophie Magic Pink Cream
This pink goodie can be used as a lip tint and blush. But on my case it doesn’t work for me as a lip tint that will last all say. But… It does it’s magic on my cheeks. It’s very smooth and easy to apply. It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing your concealer, bb cream or already mattified your face with powder, the Sophie Magic Pink Cream will glide smoothly on your face. And works well from dry to oily skin but not on too oily skin I suppose. It’s like an instant magic blush and I recommend it.
3. Revlon Matte Balm + Pond’s Age defying Cream
Last but not least, I created my own cream blush. It’s been an old school beauty hack to use your lipstick as a blush on too. And I know almost all of us girls (plus our moms) have tried this trick. But to make it a lot easier with extra moisturizing benefits I am using Pond’s Age Defying Cream together with my Revlon Matte Balm in Showy. These products are for my personal recommendation only. You are free to use whatever lipstick you have or facial cream that you prefer. You just have to dab the lipstick on your finger and apply it on your cheeks then dab a very tiny amount of moisturizer to smoothen out the lipstick blush on your cheeks. And that’s it!
I hope you have enjoyed reading this blog as much as I enjoyed sharing my Go-To Blushes. I would like to know your blush hacks too or your ideas by leaving it on the comments section. Thanks again for reading! 😉
I’m all about makeup and it’s all about mess of you’re not able to keep ’em all organized. Right now, my makeups are placed on transparent containers that I’ve bought from a store, I’m also using a transparent jar, and I also tried using a wine glass for my makeup brushes. And even a cupcake stand that right now I’m using as a container for my perfumes. Weird but resourceful right?
Despite those stuff that I tried in organizing my makeup I still want to have those big acrylic makeup holders as seen on the photo below.
That being showed, I’m still the type who’s very creative and into DIY stuff and finding other purposes for a particular stuff (insert resourceful).
Like this transparent jar or vase below. I want to try it with a small aquarium or any transparent jar with an unusual shape will do and put marbles or huge fake pearl beads in it. The marbles or beads will hold your makeup brushes or makeup sticks (eg. eye liner, liquid liner, mascara, lip liners etc.)
Now this another DIY photo below is something that I really can use for my lipsticks so I can see the label on them. I believe it’ll just take at least 3-4 circular transparent containers that you can glue with a glue gun together. Isn’t it convenient? 🙂
On this next one as shown on the photo below it used metal trays and it really does look very very classy! Hence the effort. I have those kind of trays at home but it’s really huge like it’s really meant to serve lotsa food on the table!
Below are a few photos that I wanted to for my room that are somehow achievable. I’m really into whites and transparent. I like it neat and seeing everything or rather accessible looking.
But for now I gotta stick with what I have. And you can try my makeup storage ideas at home too! You can spice it up by putting glittery ribbons on it or spray paint on it. Do whatever you like and I would love to read your ideas by leaving it on the comments below. Thanks again for reading! 😉
Makeup brushes and sponges are tools that are very essential for me when I do my makeup and I’m pretty sure that all of the makeup lovers out there would agree with me or for some it’s the holy grail of makeup application. Though I admit that I still use my hands when I apply my foundation, concealer, blush and eye shadow.
And I just wanted to highlight the importance of cleaning your makeup brushes/sponges.
How dirty brushes affect your skin
While your bristles pick up pigments, they also collect dirt, oil, and bacteria—and this affects Beauties with sensitive or acne-prone skin the most! “This buildup can be transferred to your skin and cause breakouts,” says Dr. Tanzi. The risk of infection is lower with blush and face powder brushes since they are not coming in contact with wet areas like the eyes and mouth, which can harbor more bacteria and viruses.

Having that said, I honestly don’t clean my makeup brushes once a week. Sometimes it takes a month for me to clean it. What I do is every time after I use it, I dab my brush on a cotton ball with toner on it. And I suggest for you guys not to do what I do.
Before I really don’t know how to clean my makeup brushes, so what I do was I pour makeup remover on each brush and clean the bristles using my fingers on running water. It does the job but it does take a toll on my makeup remover too. Since then I’ve done some research of how to clean your makeup brushes the “home made way” since I really don’t want to spend big on makeup cleaners. (My mindset was: I’m not a makeup pro to spend a lot on those kinda stuff) Soooo, here are my Five Friday Faves that show Ways to clean your makeup brushes.
1. Cleaning makeup brushes using a dishwashing liquid and extra virgin olive oil
The video below is an old school youtube tutorial from Michelle Phan and until now I still do this kind of cleaning with my makeup brushes. Personally I use baby oil instead of
extra virgin olive oil. I recommend this tutorial because the dishwashing liquid disinfects while the oil conditions the brushes.
2. Cleaning makeup brushes using baby shampoo + warm water
Basically the concept from the first video is just the same. But I rarely do this since I don’t have a stock of baby shampoo at home and would not use adult shampoo as an alternative since it has different chemicals on it. I recommend this because the baby shampoo is mild on the hair and warm water removes bacteria. Note:WARM not Hot. Hot water might cause the bristles of the brush to fall out.
3. Cleaning makeup brushes with Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser + MakeUp Washing Brush Egg
I honestly don’t knoe where to buy the Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser besides online but I personally think that you can use baby soap instead. I just purchased a MakeUp Washing Brush Egg but haven’t used it. On this video it’s finally making sense to me now. And for me, among these 5 ways to clean your makeup brushes, this is my most favorite way to clean makeup brushes. I really really recommend this tutorial and having the MakeUp Washing Brush Egg.
4. Cleaning makeup brushes with makeup remover + kitchen towel
Now why kitchen towel instead of a regular tissue? It’s because a kitchen towel does not tear easily. I use this method if I’m too lazy to prep materials and go to the kitchen sink. The video below is as easy as 1-2-3, but I have to admit it’s somehow a waste of makeup remover/cleanser.
5. Cleaning makeup brushes with dishwashing liquid + makeup remover + baby oil and the MakeUp Washing Brush Egg
Last but not least. My own MakeUp brushes/sponge cleansing technique. I don’t have it on video since I’m blogging from the hospital right now (and I am recovering). My technique is like a mash up of the tutorials 1 to 4. As seen on the photo that I created below. These are the tools to be used.
So, on a clean tray or plate (preferrably white) pour the dishwashing liquid (40%), baby oil (40%), and makeup remover (20%). I did include percentages on them just for you to gauge the amount of product to put on the plate or tray. Then, grab all your dirty makeup brushes and sponges and put them aside near the tray/plate then one by one, starting with your brush, swipe the mixture in circular motion, once you have a thick consistency with the makeup residue, grab your makeup washing brush egg and brush it under running tap water. And place your cleaned brush on a neat towel or kitchen towel aside if you prefer. I do recommend to clean all the brushes first and then make another set of mixture for the sponges. The difference of the cleansing technique with the sponges is that you have to squeeze it several times to ensure that all of those makeup residue are out and brush it on the makeup washing brush egg.
And there you go! I hope today’s blog made you realize how important it is and how easy it is to clean your makeup brushes and sponges because it’s for your own skin. I want to know your ideas too by leaving it on the comments section below. Thanks again for reading! 😉
On today’s blog post I’m not sharing any beauty products that I love but instead, it will be beauty tips or advices that I want to tell to my teenage-self.
Don’t touch your own eyebrows!
When I was in high school I’m very curious in trying a lot of things on my face. I tried shaving my eyebrows too thin and accidentally shaved almost half of my left (or right I can’t remember) eyebrow. So I ended up regrowing them but still I plucked and maintained my eyebrows too thin.
I want to tell my teenage-self to have a professional do her eye brows and ask for maintenance tips.
Drink lotsa water!
I’m so fond of drinking coffee and more milk tea that I tend to forget to drink water. Water relieves Fatigue, treats Headaches and Migraines (i have it before or during that time of the month), it helps in Digestion and Constipation, it flushes Out Toxins too.
According to some research that I did, water helps in improving skin too. I’ll tell my teenage-self then “Hey! Don’t skip the water!”
Don’t do that to your clothes
Way back, I used to to cut or tear (not all) my clothes to make something unique and it really ended up not really good.
So to my teenage-self, don’t do that! Trends are come and go and sometimes it even returns like that flared pants, don’t alter it too make it look like skinny jeans.
That’s all for today. How about you guys? What would you advise to your old teenage-self? I want to know your ideas by leaving it on the comments section below. Thanks again for reading! 😉
