How to make your own choker

Chokers may be outdated this 2017. But honestly I still love them. This choker trend started during the 90s era. Though I sported this choker thing back in the early 2000s but not the thick ones that’s trending from last year like the ones you see from Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid.

I started to wear this trend wayback early 2016 but I never EVER bought one. I made one for myself instead.
As you can see on the photos below. That’s the very first choker that I made.

And on today’s blog I’ll show you how I made my very first choker. 🙂

All you need is a ribbon (I personally prefer at least an inch thick), a roll of thread (preferably the same color of your ribbon), a needle, and a metal hook and eye.
1. First, is you measure your ribbon around your neck and leave at least an 2 inches allowance then mark it and cut it slightly diagonally so the ribbon won’t go “feathery” and loose its texture at the ends.

(photo from google)
2. Next is to prepare your thread and needle. Ideally the length of the thread is 20 inches but what I do is I measure it vertically around my arm. From my fingers holding the thread down to my elbow then back to my fingers holding the thread. (This shouldn’t be hard)

  1. Using your ribbon, ensure that what’s on the top is the ones you prefer to be in front then fold a few centimeters inward and start stitching the metal hook. Same fold on the other end of the ribbon where you need to stitch the metal eye.
(I am using the larger hook & eye. I prefer this if your ribbon is thick)
  2. Finally the finished product! I made 3 chokers just earlier today and here they are.

Few tips on wearing your chokers. You can also pair it with a necklace of your choice and it looks edgy when you’re wearing a tube top, a v-neck, a low round neck, an off-shoulder or any clothing that exposes your clavicle or shoulders.

That’s it for today’s blog. Thanks again for reading! 😉

Five Friday Faves: Eating like a model

People nowadays are somehow conscious with their health and bodies. Being fit is now actually a trend which is actually good and having a role model for being fit is actually good.

As for me, I am slim but I still believe I should watch what I eat and still workout to increase my endurance and boost my immune system. I’m a strong believer that being slim and just eating healthy is not about starving yourself to be accepted by society, but instead you’re doing it because you know it benefits your body.

So today I researched what my five favorite models eat and just to get some ideas pf eating healthy. In order to eat healthy, it doesn’t have to be exact as what they eat but at least you’ll have a gist of creating your own menu for a healthy diet. And here you go:

  1. Taylor Hill
She’s one of my newest favorite American model. I first saw her on Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2015. She was discovered in a barn (you read that right) and started print ads for Forever 21.

    “For breakfast I had:
 Yogurt parfait.
    For lunch I had:
 A ham sandwich.
    For dinner I had:
 Chicken and vegetables, yum!
    Today I snacked on:
 Almonds.
    My signature healthy smoothie is:
Bananas, strawberries, peanut butter, yogurt, and ice.

  1. Irina Shayk
I first saw her on Armani fashion shows and then on a Sports Illustrated magazine. This Russian beauty. She was also the 1st Russian model that graced the cover in 2011 and Models.com

What are some of Irina Shayk’s eating habits? Shayk stays away from caffeine and drinks plenty of water, fresh green juices, and green tea throughout the day. Shayk’s other healthy food favorites include oatmeal, kefir, hot lemon water, soups, vegetables, and fruits. For lunch, Shayk may consume a green salad with fish or chicken. For dinner, she may eat fish, chicken, or turkey breast with lentils.

  2. Miranda Kerr
She is my model peg for life! Many models are very famous nowadays but Miranda is just remarkable. When I first saw her on Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show I know she will be an instant VS Angel. And she is just an advocate of everything organic and healthy.

    Miranda’s day on a plate
First thing: “My morning routine starts with warm water and lemon, then a protein shake.”
Breakfast: “Eggs over easy, avocado, sauerkraut, sea salt and macadamia nut oil.
    Lunch: “Grilled chicken and salad.”
Dinner: “Quinoa salad with chicken cooked in coconut oil and turmeric, with a spinach and walnut salad.”
Snacks: “Blueberries, almonds or goji berries. I also love an apple with some almond butter.”

  3. Gigi Hadid
I first admired Gigi when I saw her on one of the print ads for Guess. I did not really know her name wayback then until she started stepping up her game. Started modeling for Tom Ford, Max Mara, Balmain, Victoria’s Secret and Tommy Hilfiger.

BREAKFAST
Gigi’s mornings start out pretty typical: “I usually eat breakfast or have coffee before I do anything,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “I live near the Smile, and I love their scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. I drink orange juice and coffee always.”
LUNCH
Gigi typically works out in the mornings, so by lunch, girlfriend is hungry. “My personal motto is: ‘Eat clean to stay fit, have a burger to stay sane,'” she said (adopting that for ourselves ASAP). “So if I’m in the mood I’ll go to JG Melon in the West Village.” If she’s eating clean that day, it’s back to the Smile for lunch. “They have a little arugula salad that I could eat every day,” she said.
SNACKS
If you didn’t love her before, you’ll really love her now: Gigi’s go-to afternoon snack is ice cream. “There used to be an Emack & Bolio’s on Houston Street, which is my favorite ice-cream place. I love the Grasshopper Pie,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “One day it was closed and I almost cried. Now I’ll just Postmate pints of it to my apartment.”
DINNER
Gigi loves to “cook and watch a movie,” but if she’s headed out, it’s to “Bond Street for sushi.”

  1. Kendall Jenner
This reality tv star turned to model is definitely skyrocketing in the fashion industry. Many people were saying she’s only famous because of her family’s background. But I believe she has the looks and absolutely killing it on the runway and covers in the fashion industry.

Drinking green tea every day is part of her healthy diet. The tea helped Jenner lose 15 pounds before she walked the catwalk for Chanel’s spring lineup in January. This is likely due to green tea’s EGCG content—it’s a powerful antioxidant that can help people lose weight when they drink the tea regularly.
But one of her other secrets to losing weight and keeping it off is to have a shot of apple cider vinegar every day. Apple cider vinegar has long been used for many health ailments and weight loss; however, while anecdotal evidence supports these claims, there is little scientific research to substantiate it.
Another diet trick that helped Kendall Jenner lose weight was to eat fiber first thing in the morning and load up on it so that she remained full for hours after. A typical breakfast for her was oatmeal with eggs and avocado. Eggs and oatmeal are a common combination for athletes and weightlifters because of the high protein/carb combination.

And there you have it! Personally, I got addicted to Chinese Pu Erh tea. I’ll prolly go back to drinking it again everyday. By the way there’s a proper way of drinking tea and I’ll blog it anytime soon. Also I’m planning to do my food groceries again and stop buying fast food. It’s just sometimes I can’t stop myself from eating fried or garlic rice for breakfast with scrambled eggs or my Mc Donald’s brekky craving such as the Egg Mc muffin and then I put hashbrown together with the cheese and egg.

But guys, eating healthy is not about depriving yourself from your favorite foods. It’s just that I believe we can start that little by little then perhaps it’s best to schedule a cheat day. Don’t you think?
Well guys I hope this blog gave you an idea how you can start eating healthy and how are you going to incorporate those healthy food in your usual diet. Thanks again for reading! 😉

Six Celebs and their morning routine

Hey guys! On this blog post I would like to share my favorite celeb’s day-to-day basis look. These ladies are just as human as us and not all the time they’re all glammed up by their glam team.

So here are 6 of my fave celeb’s day-to-day basis look slash routine.

  1. Blake Lively

“On a day-to-day basis I just normally wear sunscreen, tinted moisturiser and nothing else really. Nothing really make-uppy,” she told us. “I also like to have a light lipstick in my purse – just a kiss of colour. I’ll blot on my cheeks and eyelids. I learned that from a make-up artist years ago – you take blush and put it on your cheeks, on the tip of your nose and wherever your parting is, as that’s where you get the most sun. That way it never looks like blush, it looks like the warmth showing up on your skin, asymmetrically. Not like make-up.”

  2. Victoria Beckham

“6:15 A.M. I wake up between 6:15 and 6:30. Because I have, you know, four kids, I’m quite an early riser! So I naturally wake up at that time, but I always have an alarm as a safety net—in case I have something really important going on and I sleep in for the first time in 20 years. (I don’t make Victoria Beckham nighties, so I’ll leave it to everybody’s imagination what I sleep in.) Then I get in the shower, and because I wake the children up at 7 o’clock, that gives me half an hour to get myself ready. So that half an hour in the morning while I’m getting ready, between showering and washing my face, I’m checking e-mails that have come in overnight, from America. Yes, there is an iPhone sitting there in the bathroom! In the bathroom, I always use Dr. Lancer skin products. He’s a dermatologist I saw when we were living in Los Angeles. The body cream I use is a really simple, inexpensive body moisturizer by Weleda. It’s really, really thick, and I slather it on. I also really like those Stila lip glosses, the ones that you twist and they click. They smell and taste nice. And then, throughout the day, I use Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. I’d love to have a bath first thing in the morning, but I just don’t have the time. I do love to have a bath in the evening, but I’m not one to sit there and soak.”

  3. Miranda Kerr

“Being a busy mom, I try to keep it simple. Before showering, I dry body brush—this aids circulation and lymphatic drainage and it’s also a great way to exfoliate my body.
My skincare routine is basic but really effective. I cleanse, tone, and moisturize using Kora Organics Foaming Cleanser, Energizing Citrus Mist, and the Hydrating Day and Night Cream. Then I apply Kora Organics Tinted Day Cream, which has a natural SPF and gives a radiant complexion; put on some lip balm; curl my lashes; and do a light coat of mascara.”

4. Nina Dobrev

“I like to go as natural as possible. I don’t like to wear too much makeup, especially in my day-to-day life. If I want to punch it up, I’ll do a cat-eye. A cat-eye is always fun. Otherwise for the most part, a little bit of mascara, and I’m good to go.”

  1. Gigi Hadid

“I wash my face with the cheap stuff from CVS. Whenever I run out I just go and pick whichever one I think looks the coolest or smells good. Right now it’s the St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub. Then I use Eucerin Intensive Repair Very Dry Skin Lotionfor my body…and for my face [Laughs]—that’s embarrassing. For deodorant I like the clear gel because I can’t have any of that white residue when I’m working. Secret Flawless Clear deodorant has really good scents, so I use that mostly. Crest’s Complete Multi-Benefit Gel in Cinnamon Expressions is another thing I always get at CVS. I really like it. The only product I’ll spend money on is Fresh’s Sugar Lemon Bath & Shower Gel. It’s my favorite thing in the world—it just smells so good.”

6. Kendall Jenner

“I’m very simple and lazy with my beauty routine. I wouldn’t say I’m that daring. But I’ve always been super OCD about washing my face—and that’s even before I started modeling. But it’s definitely enhanced now because I wear so much makeup all the time. I wash my face at least two or three times a day.”

Learning the day-to-day routines of these celebs made me realize that we almost have the same routine. Like Victoria Beckham who wakes up early in the morning. But in my case I wake up extra early like around 4AM to 5AM. Like Gigi Hadid who doesn’t use expensive stuff on washing her face and she uses St. Ives Apricot Scrub. Which I think I’ll incorporate now on my daily routine.

As of now I use Celeteque dermo science with the micro scrubs for washing my face or just the regular dove soap. Whatever mild soap is available actually. But I never skip a mild toner to remove all the residue on my face. Sometimes I forget to put on some moisturizer because I sometimes get lazy to do that. If it’s summer I make sure I put sunblock on my face (like Blake Lively does and I believe all girls should try it too) at least SPF 30 to SPF 50.

I hope you guys learned something (at least). Perhaps you wanted to share your beauty or morning routines too. You don’t have to be a celebrity to share your beauty routines. You can share it on the comment section below or interact with me through my social media accounts found on the stay connected section of this blog. Thanks for reading!😘
