LIPSTICK EXPERIMENT

Got a bit bored and experimented with two lippies (Wet n Wild and LA girl) that I rarely use to come up with a new shade. Topped that off a moisturizing lip balm (Baby Lips from Maybelline). Enjoy!

How to make your own choker

Chokers may be outdated this 2017. But honestly I still love them. This choker trend started during the 90s era. Though I sported this choker thing back in the early 2000s but not the thick ones that’s trending from last year like the ones you see from Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid.

I started to wear this trend wayback early 2016 but I never EVER bought one. I made one for myself instead.
As you can see on the photos below. That’s the very first choker that I made.

And on today’s blog I’ll show you how I made my very first choker. 🙂

All you need is a ribbon (I personally prefer at least an inch thick), a roll of thread (preferably the same color of your ribbon), a needle, and a metal hook and eye.
1. First, is you measure your ribbon around your neck and leave at least an 2 inches allowance then mark it and cut it slightly diagonally so the ribbon won’t go “feathery” and loose its texture at the ends.

(photo from google)
2. Next is to prepare your thread and needle. Ideally the length of the thread is 20 inches but what I do is I measure it vertically around my arm. From my fingers holding the thread down to my elbow then back to my fingers holding the thread. (This shouldn’t be hard)

  1. Using your ribbon, ensure that what’s on the top is the ones you prefer to be in front then fold a few centimeters inward and start stitching the metal hook. Same fold on the other end of the ribbon where you need to stitch the metal eye.
(I am using the larger hook & eye. I prefer this if your ribbon is thick)
  2. Finally the finished product! I made 3 chokers just earlier today and here they are.

Few tips on wearing your chokers. You can also pair it with a necklace of your choice and it looks edgy when you’re wearing a tube top, a v-neck, a low round neck, an off-shoulder or any clothing that exposes your clavicle or shoulders.

That’s it for today’s blog. Thanks again for reading! 😉

Five Friday Faves: Hair care products

For the majority of my whole existence I can’t count anymore how many times I’ve changed my hair shampoo. I never really had a major favorite. And as most of beauty magazines advice is to change your shampoo at least every 3 months. As for me, as long as the shampoo smells good, has lotsa bubbles and washes my hair I’m already good with that.

But my hair care doesn’t stop from washing my hair. I want to share with you guys my five favorite hair care products (mostly hair conditioning products) on today’s blog.

1. L’oreal Total Repair Hair Mask
Honestly, my hair is totally damaged from the sun and from several hair coloring that I’ve done in the past. I kept on trying several hair masks that I usually see in the department store or drug store but I didn’t feel it’s doing any good besides as a hair conditioner. So I stumbled upon this L’oreal Total Repair Hair Mask. It feels good on my hair (smells good too) and it’s consistency is very thick and when I rinse my hair it does feel different from your usual conditioner. And even if my hair is already dry, the roughness and frizziness lessened. The major content of this hair mask is ceramide and I personally think this is the particular content that makes it different from all other hair mask. I highly recommend it especially if you like to color your hair a lot and even for those who have virgin hair. Youbneed to treat it with some TLC at least once or twice a week with this hair mask.
2. Pantene 3-minute Miracle Conditioner
Now this! I use on a regular basis. The consistency of this conditioner is thicker than your usual conditioners but less thick than a hair mask. It just feels so creamy and relaxing on my hair during shower and even if I blow dry my hair or just towel dry it and not comb it. It doesn’t get tangled and it’s less frizzy. So I personally recommend this one if you don’t spend too much on hair conditioners coz it’s affordable too.
3. Herbal Essences conditioner
The one on the photo is in Hello Hydration. But I prefer all of the variations of Herbal Essences conditioners. Though I admit it doesn’t conditions as much as the Pantene 3-minute miracle but I’m really in love with its scent. Most of their conditioners smell like botanical or sometimes fresh and slightly fruity. I recommend this for spa-feels while in the shower. Very relaxing!
4. GIGA Nature’s Therapy Hair Treatment
I’m not even sure if I’m going to consider this one as a hair mask because most of the hair masks are the ones that you use while your hair is still wet. This one is a hair treatment that you apply while your hair is dry. I love it because it’s all natural. It contains virgin coconut oil, aloe vera, peppermint, patchouli and lavender. And I love anything that is minty. I advise that you wrap your hair with a plastic wrap and leave it more than 20 minutes on your hair and shower away and rinse well with shampoo. It leaves your hair smooth, less frizzy and for me it felt like it has more volume.
5. Vitress Hair cuticle coat
If I’m in the mood for a sleek look or I simply want to tame my locks, I use Vitress Hair cuticle coat. At first I really don’t know what it’s for and I’m a bit hesitant to use it because I’m thinking that my hair might look oily but I was wrong! It actually tames the frizz and it gives it a fresh-looking shine or rather a healthy-looking shine.
TIP: I also put a half pea-sized amount of Vitress on the lower part of my hair so my pony tail looks neat underneath too. And also a few on the sides near the ears will do.

There you have it! Those are my five favorite hair care products that I have tried and tested and until now I’m still using at least three of those. Let me know in the comments if you have a different experience with my favorite hair care products! Thanks again for reading! 😉

Tuesday Top 3: Makeup Removers

How do I remove my makeup?

On today’s blog I would like to share with you guys my top 3 makeup removers that I’ve tried and tested.

These are the makeup removers that you can easily find in your local drug stores and I swear by it definitely removes dirt and makeup.

image

1. L’oreal Cleansing Milk

This makeup remover right here earned it’s number one spot on my top 3 makeup removers because it totally removes all traces of makeup on my face. It has a milky texture and smells really fresh and doesn’t sting (it’s a huge factor for me). I apply it on a cotton pad (or a stretched out cotton ball) then swipe and massage it allover my face. I also put a very small amount on my fingers for removing traces of mascara and eyeliner and continue swiping it with cotton. I sometimes use it as a moisturizer after washing my face.
From what I recall, I bought this one around 300 to 400 pesos i think. It’s kinda pricy but worth it.

2. Avenè Micellar Lotion

This is my next fave makeup remover that I got from the Cosmo Beauty Block event. And until now I still can’t find where to buy one!

Anyway, i love this product because it’s very gentle on my skin. And again it doesn’t sting. I just apply it on a cotton pad and swipe away those dirt and makeup. I have to admit that the downside of this makeup remover is it doesn’t totally remove my mascara. Especially the water-proof and smudge-proof ones. So I still use baby oil on my lashes and swipe it away with my cotton pad with Avenè.
I love it coz it doesn’t sting at all even if it gets into my eyes. This is a must-buy for me. If somebody knows where I can buy it. Please hit me up on the comment section or on my social media accounts.

3. Nivea Refreshing Cleansing Wipes

As usual I’m into makeup removers that doesn’t sting and feels gentle on the skin. This one doesn’t feel like an ordinary baby wipes (some baby wipes have a slight roughness-feel). The Nivea Cleansing wipes feels like a wet cotton cloth though I’m not sure if it’s comparable to a muslin sheet (kindly google that one for description.

Anyway, this one is good to use if you’re always on the go and lazy to prep in removing your makeup. This only cost me less than 200 pesos.
TIP: I tear one Nivea cleansing wipe into two (or sometimes even three!) to conserve the cleansing wipes. 😉

I have to admit that it’s not practical spending a good amount of money just for removing your makeup. But of course I wanted something cheap, does the job, and still cares for my skin. So, BEHOLD!!!

image
Been using the Belo Essentials Pore refining toner ever since it came out from the market (it’s actually one of the leading skin care brands here in the Philippines). I put a good amount of this toner onto a cotton pad and with 2 drops of Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Oil then swipe off all of my makeup. It doesn’t sting even if I swipe it around my eyes (reiterating: that’s around my eyes, not inside my eyes). My skin doesn’t feel dry after using this and I strongly suggest that you should try it too. Ü

I hope you have learned on this blog today and if you have something to share, please do so, I would love to hear from you guys. Thank you again for reading! 😉

Five Friday Faves: Random Beauty products

Hi guys! It’s already Saturday here where I live but it’s still Friday somewhere else in the world and on today’s blog I want to share my favorite stuff from skin care, to makeup to perfume.

1.  365 Daily Mask from Beauty Buffet (by Watson’s)

image
A mask is a must! Koreans swear by it and even Sandara Park of the band 2NE1 said that she’s using a face mask daily! Yep daily!

What I love about this face mask is its attached to a plastic-like thing to prevent it from tearing since the mask is like a thinner version of your regular mask or baby wipes rather and it doesn’t have a strong smell.

I tried using it for 5 straight days and I noticed how smooth and supple my skin is and it really looks hydrated. And also it appears to me that it’s a lot easier for me to put my moisturizer and makeup coz it glides well and blends well on my face. And it’s only 59 pesos!

TIP: I put on my moisturizer first then leave the mask while I sleep and remove it when I wake up in the morning. (Sometimes I wakeup without it anymore coz I tend to move a lot when I sleep).

2. Avenè Micellar Lotion

This ones is not actually a lotion. It’s a makeup remover. I just got the chance to try this one because I got it for free from Cosmopolitan’s Beauty Block event. And I actually love it!

It smells so mild and it totally removes all the trace of makeup from my face. Well except for water and smudge proof mascara. It doesn’t leave your face dry nor, oily nor greasy. I highly recommend it!

However, I don’t know where to buy this holy grail of makeup remover. Perhaps I can email cosmopolitan about it.

3. LA Girl Nude Eye Shadow Palette

image

I know! I’m self confessed that I’m over reiterating this eye shadow palette on my blog!  I love all of its shades and I’m trying my best not to use it on a daily basis.

It’s actually my childhood best friend who recommended me the brand LA girl. The thing is, she’s actually recommending me the concealer. But when I’m at the LA Girl section at a department store, the nude palette got my attention and I bought it! (Yeah I totally forgot about the concealer)

4. Nyx Soft Matte Cream lipstick in Prague

This nyx lippie is love! I know that on one of my blogs I’ve mentioned that the Revlon Matte Balm is my go-to lippie. However, the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream is my next favorite.

I like the mild vanilla scent and how creamy it is when I swipe it on my lips. It’s one of the US-branded liquid/cream lipsticks that I find affordable.

TIP: After applying this lippie, I pat it with my finger and swipe another layer and pat it with my finger that I dabbed onto a baby powder or face powder. Whichever is available. This is how I make this lippie last. ü

5. Revlon Love Is On perfume

image

This new scent of Revlon is basically Love. I don’t know how to explain the scent besides that for me it smells sexy with class. So I did a little research on what is the base of this perfume.

I found out that it’s actually plum blossom with ginger, cardamom and sandalwood, and musk, vanilla and amber. I just love anything vanilla maybe that’s why I really like this scent.

I only have a tester bottle of this one at home but once it’s out in the market. I’ll definitely buy one. I discovered that a percentage of its proceeds will go to breast cancer victims. So think of it that if you bought Revlon Love Is On perfume, you’ve done a charitable work and smell sexy too. 😉

That’s all for today guys. Feel free to interact with me on my social media network found on the stay connected section on this blog and you can also leave your comments. 😘

App of the week: MakeUp Plus

First thing’s first. Thanks to Makeup Plus ph for posting this on Instagram.

"Dare to be fabulous" #MakeupPlusLFW #MakeupPlus

A post shared by MakeupPlus Philippines (@makeupplus_ph) on

Can’t seem to get enough of using the app as you can see below. I’ve edited another photo ü (that’s me killin it)

imageBesides that it has its pre-made look (as seen below)image

You can actually fully customize your look. From foundation, to lipsticks with more than 10 shades with different kinds to choose from like satin, matte or glossy (I personally love matte ü). There’s several blush shades to choose from and many styles on where you want the blush located on your face.

image

And ladies! You can also choose different types of contour (plus strobing. You read that right). Don’t forget your eye brows too! It has several selections of shapes and 3 colors for your eye brows: black, dark brown and light brown. And also a palette of eye shadows too choose from (amazing!ü)

image

This Makeup Plus app will totally give a you a brand new look that actually highlights all your facial features. The app also allows you to change your eye color (I usually use Hazel, Honey, and Grey. I really think it brightens my eyes and compliments with my skin tone). The app also has varieties of eye lashes too choose from!ü My choice of eye lashes are always the ones that has a lower lash lines coz I’m always into brightening up my eyes. This feature I’m not actually expecting which is the eye lid option. Yep! The app is concerned with all kinds of eye lids especially the ones with no eye lids (great job!). I still use this feature even if I have slightly meaty eye lids. It enhances it and I love it!

image

And lastly they have decorations for the face if you still think you need to add some stuff on the face. I like how the maker of this app thought of putting the freckles on it. But I personally love the boho thingy there. Ü

Girls! This is just very easy to use. Once you upload your photo, the makeup plus app will automatically select the focal points on your face and then tap and swipe away. You can experiment with whatever look that you prefer. You can even get makeup inspirations from the looks that you’ve tried on the app and apply it to yourself!ü

I hope you guys are excited as I am experimenting your looks on this Makeup Plus app! Thanks so much for reading!😘

What’s up Wednesday

Today’s featured look

I used 2 shades from my new fave LA Girl nude eye shadow palette, a very thin winged eyeliner, for my brows I used brown eye liner and brushed it with an almost-running-out brown mascara and I swear it really does the trick for nicely brushed brows compare if you’re going to use a regular mascara it’ll leave your eye brows clumpy and bushy-wet-looking (you don’t want that). And for my lashes, as always; Maybelline the Hyper Curl Volum’ express mascara (my favorite one next to Magnum). For my face powder I used NYX stay matte but not flat powder foundation in Nude Diaphane.

I really want to show you guys how I do my make up especially the eye makeup. It’s where I really take so much time. BUT my phone memory is really preventing me from doing that. I really like doing everything (almost) on my phone. I’m using an iPhone 6, a wordpress app for blogging and the iMovie app for video editing. It’s really convenient. HOWEVER, it’s storage is really terrible and the quality of the video is just slightly above average. So the blogging/vlogging materials are currently in the works. For the meanwhile I’ll do a lot of blogging rather than vlogging. Don’t forget to check the Stay connected section on the side bar. Thanks guys for reading! 😉
