How Often Should You Wash Your Face

Washing your face is a must in all beauty routine. Considering  it’s hygienic purposes too. But how often should you really wash your face? Well there’s really no rule on how many times should we wash our face. It’s comparable to how many time you should really shower. No rule. But I’ve done some research on what really is the deal. Of course the environment and your activities in a day should come to consideration. These all depends on you.  But the major player here is the skin type. How does your skin type attribute on how often you should wash your face? Your skin type: normal skin, dry skin, and combination of all. Plus your lifestyle is the basis on how often your should wash your face. Let’s break it down… If your face has normal to oily skin… Normal meaning, not prone to breakouts on your cheeks. You tend to have a well-moisturized to oily t-zone. Or sometimes on the cheek area. Oil builds up overnight that’s why a morning cleanse is big necessity. While the oil will rebuild plus the pollutants during the day. Especially if you’re a working gal or a school gal. So long as you go out. This makes your making your night cleanse very vital for your face’s survival. So once to twice a day is enough. Gel-type facial wash are good for this kind of skin type. Some gel-type are:   If you have sensitive to dry skin… A sensitive skin is often reacts to skin care products, cosmetics, or household products that touches the skin. It may cause stinging, or burning sensation, rash, redness, or tightness. All of these sometimes lead to a dry skin. They say the upside to having skin that’s sensitive and dry is you only need to wash once a day.  It’s because several washing can aggravate the skin. It strips of its natural, protective oils. Even if you’re just washing with water. Your once-a-day washing comes at night. This is the best time to remove all impurities of your skin. Followed by your typical facial care ritual. In the morning, you’re all good with a splash of water. But don’t forget to tone and moisturize. For your night cleanse, use milky-type cleanser. Those that are specific to sensitive skin to prevent a flare up. Some of the popular ones are: If you’re wearing makeup… This is a special part of the blog because   Women nowadays with different skin types wears makeup. DO YOU KNOW that when you wear makeup, you should double cleanse? What is double cleanse? It involves using a cleansing oil, makeup remover, or micellar water to break down make-up, and sebum on the skin’s surface. Then you follow it with your usual water and face wash cleanse. Best to be done at nighttime. I therefore conclude It is very vital to wash our face and we have to take our skin type into consideration. So we would know how often we should wash and what products to use. Also, based on research (and on my experience too). Our skin type change over time. As we age, we can go from normal to oily then to sensitive. Before I used to have normal to oily skin. But now I suddenly have sensitive to dry skin. I became allergic to products that I’ve been using (Yes that’s possible). I became photosensitive too. Having all these makes it difficult for me to choose new products for my face and have a longtime exposure under the sun (even with SPF. Sad but true) How about you? How often do you wash your face?
