How To Have A Clean Home




Every home needs some cleaning. it maybe a daily or weekly basis, or perhaps monthly general cleaning basis. Maintaining a home will always require tidying it up. There are instances that you need to clean up your home immediately in case you are expecting guests or accidental spills that happened. But it’s not all the time that we are always in the mood to clean our home. Why? There are a few factors like, you’re tired from work or perhaps cleaning materials are not readily available and it takes time to prepare and clean.

On today’s blog, I will be sharing ideas to ensure that your home is cleaning-ready. This will be my first time to share cleaning tips and really looking forward that this will help to all readers of this blog out there. Moving on. The availability of cleaning materials is very important if you wanted to maintain a clean house or rather easily maintain a clean house.

Basics

Let’s start of with the basics. Each home is typically divided into commonly known sections like the Living room, Dining room, Kitchen area, laundry area and bath room. I’m excluding the bedrooms for the mean time but will discuss it as we move along with this article. First ensure that you have the following:

  • Broom & Dust pan
  • Vacuum
  • Rags
  • Sponges
  • Bucket
  • Mop
  • Rubber gloves

Those cleaning stuff are generally used in cleaning the house.  Other things to consider having are: Laundry detergent, Multi-purpose cleaner, Bleach, Bathroom & Toilet cleaner, Disinfectant spray, and a basin. It is important that your home is geared with cleaning essentials. A factor that a person is lazy to clean is because of the unavailability of cleaning stuff  and or cleaning stuff is not at reach.

Is Your Home Cleaning-Ready?

 

Have containers with cleaning stuff designated on each part of the house. 1 for the living room, 1 for the dining room, 1 for the kitchen and 1 for the bathroom. If you want to spare containers, assess which parts of your home are close to each other. Like on the sample home blue print below. It shows that the dining and the kitchen are just beside each other. What you can do is designate one cleaning container for both dining and kitchen and keep it in the kitchen. What to put in your cleaning containers? 2 spray bottles (to be explained why in a bit), sponge, rag, and paper towel. This is optional but then again its best to have it.

Focus: Living Room

Usually the living room is the first area that welcomes you and your guests in your home. It is important that this part of the  house is easy to tidy up. Now you already have a cleaning container  for your living room, we want to make sure this time that its easy to declutter. A stylish idea is investing on an ottoman. An ottoman is a form of couch with no arm and back rest and it has a storage in it. Also you can just have a big basket where you can easily throw stuff there when you declutter and cover it with a blanket.

       

 

 

Spray Bottles

It is very convenient to have spray bottles as a cleaning tool in your home. Now that you have a cleaning container in each part of the house. It’s best to have spray bottles. What to put on the spray bottles? For your cleaning containers in your living room, dining and kitchen. You may pour a multipurpose cleaner diluted with water and the other bottle should have tap water in it. At least you can easily spray on stains and easily clean around the house.

 Must not forget: Bedrooms

On this article I did not mention having a cleaning container for your bedrooms this is because I think that the bedroom is a haven for your relaxation. You don’t always have the need  to clean it with the discussed cleaning stuff. But I do want to share few tips to help tidying up your room. I mentioned it on my previous article on self-discipline (read it here) about developing a habit in tidying up your bed. That’s a number one. Next is your bedside table. You can organize your bedside table by prioritizing your bedside needs. As usual, mobile phone is an essential, your lamp and perhaps a clock and a book. All the stuff that you don’t need must be placed under the table or inside the drawer.

I personally suggest that you should have a hamper inside your bedroom. This allows you to easily change your clothes and put the used or dirty ones away easily without messing up your room. This eliminates also the time that you need to go to the laundry room or kitchen just to put your used or dirty clothes.
