Cellulites are your friends that you never really want. They pop up in times that you don’t really need them. They’re always there for you. Especially if its summer or you’re in the mood to wear something extra short. Cellulites keep on showing up!
First thing, how did these lumpy and dimpled cellulite start to develop? According to an article I read from mercola.com, “The puckering of skin happens when the layer of fat beneath the skin pushes against connective tissue and bulges, causing the characteristic orange-peel or cottage cheese appearance. For women, the risk of developing cellulite increases with age and peaks near menopause.”
And as per Dr. Mercola, “Cellulite is a normal occurrence, affecting almost 90 percent of women and 10 percent of men during their lifetime. On the surface, cellulite appears as lumpy or dimpled skin. However, the process of developing cellulite is more than skin deep.” (Read more here)
So how do we get rid of these annoying cellulites? I wanted to share my personal experience and research about it since I myself have this lumpy imperfection.
Though cellulites are a nuisance as it doesn’t really look appealing. Thank heavens they’re not a heath danger.
Here are some ways to get rid of cellulites
You may hear this very often. It won’t totally get rid of the cellulites but it will help the lumpy skin more even as your muscles get strong because of exercise.
Eat more fiber and low carb food
The more a food is fat-contributing, the more it becomes a precursor to developing cellulites.
Cigarettes lessen oxygen and blood supply to the body. So does it to your skin. Smoking contributes to sagging in the skin too and so is to being more prone to cellulites.
Focus massaging on those dimpled areas. Its something you can do on a daily basis like when you apply lotion or when you’re in the shower. Relaxing and it helps.
Test run anti-cellulite products
There are a lot pf products to try to get rid of cellulites. I suggest do your research beforehand. Then once you’re using it. Don’t expect too much. Try incorporating your own routine when applying these products. Like use it twice a day and massage it instead of just rubbing it on your skin.
This is something not intensive. What is does is that it uses a rolling suction on the body part with cellulites. It may take several sessions if you want to get results. I only recommend this if you’re really that eager getting rid of cellulites and willing to pay.
Lasers and Radiofrequency
Been hearing that this is a surefire way to get rid of cellulites and also wrinkles. It induces heat and suction. And the results is a smoother and bump-free skin. And it can be expensive.
Now this is something intensive. This a surgical procedure where the licensed surgeon slips a laser under the skin and shrinks the fat cells. And this is known for its longterm effects.
How did I lessen my cellulites?
I’m not going to discuss how I got rid of my cellulites but rather “lessen”. This is more sounds realistic rather than totally getting rid of them.
I started noticing I have cellulites on my lower buttock area down to the upper half of my thighs in my 3rd trimester of my first pregnancy. I was alarmed but I know I can’t do anything about it because I’m pregnant that time and I know its harmful to slather on any skin products that may harm my baby.
After I gave birth, of course the cellulites are still there. I’ve tried different anti-cellulite products at the drug store. Massaging the anti cellulite lotion or gel on my thighs but still no luck.
I’ve done some research and discovered that exercise can lessen cellulites. What I did when I was working out then, I used the same products on my thighs but focused on workouts that targets the thighs and the legs like doing several squats (with light weights) and lunges and some stretching.
And yes! It worked. It takes time and effort but it works. The cellulites have totally lessened. And I honestly believe that squats, lunges and stretching had a great impact to it.
The thing is, getting your muscles toned also helps the skin get toned as it helps with burning the fat. Now this is something realistic, attainable and non-intensive.
