Hi everyone! The baby bump is now on its 28th week. I am officially on my third trimester. Can’t believe time really flies so fast! Had my check up when I’m almost on my 26th week. I was advised by my doctor that the baby is currently underweight. I would need to load more on protein and not on carbs. I’m also taking additional supplements for 2 weeks. Hopefully everything will be ok on my next check up this coming weekend.
How The Baby is Growing
According to my baby center update.By this week, your baby weighs 2 1/4 pounds (about the size of a large eggplant) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. The baby is about the size of a large eggplant
He can blink his eyes, which now has grown lashes. With his eyesight emerging, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He’s also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.
How My Life Is Changing
I’m in the home stretch! The third and final trimester starts this week as I mentioned earlier. At this point, I am now likely to visit my doctor every two weeks. By, 36 weeks, I will be switch to weekly visits. Getting closer and closer to the day.
As per baby center, around this time, some women feel an unpleasant “creepy-crawly” sensation in their lower legs and an irresistible urge to move them while trying to relax or sleep. If this sensation is at least temporarily relieved when you move, you may have what’s known as restless legs syndrome (RLS).
No one knows for sure what causes RLS, but it’s relatively common among expectant mothers. Try stretching or massaging your legs, and cut down on caffeine, which can make the symptoms worse. Ask your healthcare provider if you should try iron supplements, which can sometimes relieve RLS. As of this stage I am definitely restless but not experiencing this RLS. There’s just so much to do at home, at work and for the baby. Which reminds me I haven’t gone shopping for maternity and baby stuff yet.
That’s all for my fortnightly update of my growing bump. If you feel like I missed anything just let me know. You can leave your comments below or contact me here, and be sure to leave any requests for any posts you’d like to read here on the blog! Thanks for reading! 😉
